My parents love to travel.  They have visited and photographed many beautiful places, but Machu Picchu might be my favorite.  My father’s artistic outlet is his photography and he has captured some amazing scenes on his trips.  For a holiday gift, my mother asked me to create a mosaic portrait of my father set in front of this breath-taking landscape.  The mountains were a lot of fun to create.  I was able to use different colors to represent the depth in the landscape.  I think I am most proud of the success I had in capturing my father’s stance while photographing the scene.  Most everyone who knows him can tell that he is the person in the mosaic from his body language, which is pretty neat!
